[intro]Before you begin, you need to have pointed a domain at your Obodo shop and have your bank account details to hand as you’ll need these to configure the Stripe Payment Gateway. When you have configured Stripe, you will also be able to accept payments via Apple Pay too. [/intro]

1. From the Dashboard, click the Settings tab:

2. Click the Payment Methods icon:

3. Click Connect With Stripe on the right-hand side:

4. On this next page, if you have an existing Stripe account, you can log into it by clicking the button in the top right-hand corner and using your usual Stripe details. However, if you do not have a Stripe account already, you will need to complete the fields accordingly:

5. Scroll further down the page, and ensure you complete the fields for Business Description, Type of Business, Company Number, Business Address, and your own Legal Name:

6. Scroll further down the page and complete the fields for your  Date of Birth, Home Address, Credit Card Statement Details and Support Phone Number:

7. Scroll down again and complete the fields for Bank Account Currency, Sort Code, Account Number and Account Number confirmation:

8. On the final part of the page, you need to add your Mobile Number into the field provided and click the Send Text button:

9. In the window that appears, add in the number which is texted to your mobile phone, before clicking Confirm:

10.This will then produce a second window. Click Download to save this code somewhere safe, as you will need it if you ever lose access to your mobile phone:

11. The next step is to add in a Password for your Stripe account in the field provided, before clicking the blue button on the bottom left-hand side of the page:

12. This will then return you to this page:

13. A row of four green ticks at the top of the page indicates that Stripe has been successfully installed on your EKM online shop. The final step is to check your email, where you will have received an email from Stripe. Click the link within it to confirm your email address and begin accepting payments using Stripe:

[remember]If you can't find the confirmation email from Stripe to check your spam/junk mail folders in case it is in there as opposed to the main inbox. [/remember]

Adding Apple Pay

15. If you wish to accept Apple Pay payments on your Obodo shop using the Stripe, you will need to turn on this functionality within your Stripe account. From the main Dashboard, you need to click Settings on the bottom left-hand side:

16. Beneath Payments and Payouts, click Apple Pay:

17. Click Add New Domain on the top right-hand side:

18. In the window that appears, you need to add the primary domain name of your Obodo shop - without the https part - into the first field provided, before clicking Add:

19. You will now be able to accept Apple Pay payments via your Stripe Payment Gateway:

I've tested this Payment Gateway and I can't see Apple Pay mentioned at all - why is that?

You will only see the Apple Pay prompt if you have Apple Pay set up on your Apple device, and you are using Safari as your browser. The Apple Pay prompt will not appear if you are using Chrome or another browser - it will only appear when using Apple's own browser. Apple Pay will then be visible on the Checkout Flow:

Why can't I see the Apple Logo on the Order Summary page of the Checkout Flow?

This is because even though your shop accepts Apple Pay payments, this is facilitated by the Stripe Payment Gateway. If you wished to highlight Apple Pay to your customers, you would need to add this to the content of your Obodo shop manually, in the form of a Design Image or a within a Webpage.
